Apart from design work, Formula SAE fosters important hands on experience. We have been hard at work in the Carleton University machine shop since the vast majority of our components are manufactured in house by team members and student volunteers.
Producing the car involves a great deal of extra work and the vast majority of students on this team have a full course load. Therefore in order to get anything accomplished, students devote a huge amount of time and energy in their own work and assisting their follow teammates with all aspects of the race car.
